Hey all! It's been a crazy couple of weeks since I last posted so I'll just jump right in. My college roommate Jeff flew in to China 2 weeks ago to visit so I flew out to Beijing to meet him and sight-see for a few days. Jeff and I had previously traveled around Europe together so this trip brought back a lot of great memories and could not have gone smoother. While in Beijing Jeff and I wandered around the Forbidden City, saw the national museum, the Great Wall, as well as some other sites. I don't want to repeat myself from my previous post about Beijing with my parents, so I'll just stress how incredibly beautiful the sites in Beijing are. Unfortunately we did encounter a fair amount of smog as you'll see in these pictures. By the way the food in the pictures is lotus stuffed with sticky rice, pork with greens, and Peking Duck.
Jeff then came to Chongqing, were he saw all the sites I've previously described here: Hotpot, hot springs, etc. It was really incredible to have such an amazing friend spend the time and money to come halfway around the world to visit. I'm very lucky to have people like that in my life.
In other random news, I had the very weird very lucky experience in the last couple of days to be in a Chinese action/war movie. Starting about 10 days ago I set off from Chongqing for the weekend for my first days of filming "King China Soldier" I finished my portion of filming Friday and the movie should be released at some point this summer. This was probably the weirdest experience/opportunity I've had while here in China and I'm excited to see how it turns out. Only here would I be given a role in a movie like this. I included some pictures below. Besides that I really don't have too much to report for now, I'll write again in just a few weeks with another update.
Missing you all,
-Adam
